Who is Christian?
Christian's personal experiences shape the ways that he advocates for communities. Wanting a community that is safe and vibrant for all, Christian serves on two Governance Committees while leading capacity building projects in communities of color that will provide resources for youth. Serving on six boards and committees - focusing on education/mentoring, housing, literacy/career readiness, and civic engagement - Christian's passion for community and individual wellness is evident.
Bridging the connection between employment and wellness, Christian has served as a job readiness trainer for both individuals and organizations. As an African-American male, he understands the need for advocacy and representation in policy-making, civic engagement, and community building. Currently leading a Youth Council for black youth between the ages of 11-26, Christian believes that by pouring into the community, we bring out the very best. Working toward this vision, Christian has participated on the Minnesota Department of Education High School Equivalency Task Force for the past two years, recognizing how present educational barriers contribute to job and housing insecurities. Christian is a National Service Alumni, a walking resource, OSHA certified, and a trailblazer.
